• Sound insulators. These are porous or fibrous products which reflect sounds well. They can be produced of foamed polyethylene, polyurethane and artificial or natural felt. They are installed as the second layer after vibration dampers and also provide cold proofing. Such car sound proofing can have foil coating, which increases its resistance to moisture and mechanical effect.
• Sound dampers. These are soft highly porous products with open structure, which are able to disperse sound waves. Most of all they are produced of foamed rubber or polyurethane foam.
• Anti-squeak seals. They cover gaps in dashboard area and in seats adjustment knobs, as well as in places where decorative interior elements join. Stripes of foamed polyethylene or rubber can be used as seals for concealed parts; for visible ones – elements made of synthetic fabric.

Tips on car sound proofing use

1. Installation of such materials is a laborious job which requires special tools, including heat gun and roller. It is advisable to apply to service station specialists to do this procedure.
2. During self-maintained installation strictly follow the manufacturer’s recommendations. It is better to start from a smooth surface, for instance, the boot floor.
3. Remove dirt, corrosion stains and degrease the parts using special chemicals in order to make soundproofing tightly adhere to the parts.
4. It is preferable to put on protective gloves for installation of foil-coated materials. This will minimize the risk of cuts.
