Changed from a 10w40 unknown oil brand from previous owner to this on my Astra 1.4 petrol (z14xe) Without stepping into composition or chemicals from the oil gurus, I experienced a smoother engine noise, even "happier revving" although this could be a placebo effect. Will buy it again for the next change.
I have two BMW's in my household. I've serviced both with this oil and within 4 months both DPF's were completely blocked. I wouldn't recommend this oil if you have a DPF
Castrol has the best combination of high flash point and viscosity (kinematic 100C), which is 12.3 (almost an SAE 40 rating). 0w allows for faster warm up in the winter. During summer months, if driving hard I might use Castrol Edge 5w40.
Best oil for the EA888 engines on Stage2+ modes, it keeps oil temp at about 12-15 degrees lower then Castrol Edge Professional
