J.: hi .i want to purchase a starter motor to turn a wheel ..when your website says the motor is anticlockwise..does that mean that the pinion of the motor as you looking at it from the front end is powering anticlockwise or is it the flywheel it is turning that will be going anticlockwise. because the direction of the pinion will be the opposite direction on the flywheel ....thanks

The direction of current depends on the position of the brushes relative to the commutator, and the direction of the magnetic field depends on the position of the excitation windings or the position of the magnetic system. For starters with a magnetic excitation system, the direction of rotation is determined solely by the position of the magnets in the housing.
The counterclockwise direction is indicated for the starter gear when viewed from the installation side. The flywheel rotates in the opposite direction — clockwise.
